BABIES IN THE LIBRARY

"Babies in the Library" will be held on Friday mornings at 10:15 am beginning September 24 and ending October 15th.  This 4 week program for babies from birth to 18 months is filled with rhymes, songs, activities and stories intended to make the library experience fun for babies and their parents.  Story times are free but registration is required.  Registration may be done in person or by telephone (387-2108) beginning Wednesday, September 8th.  Space is limited.

TALES FOR TWOS

A half-hour story time of stories, songs and craft for children aged 2 and their parent/caregiver.  Program will be held on Wednesday mornings at 10:15 a.m. beginning September 29th.  Children must be 2 as of start date.  Registration is required and may be done in prson or by calling the library at 387-2108 beginning September 8th.

WANTED:  Homebound patrons  (for further information, see below General Services).

• Borrow up to 50 items for 3 weeks at a time.
• Access to a provincial collection of over 2 million items in VISION, the on-line catalogue http://vision.gnb.ca : books, magazines, research materials, CD’s and DVD’s.
• Renew items in person, by phone or on our website.
• Place holds in person, by phone or through VISION.
• Inter Library Loans from other libraries outside our provincial catalogue.
• Virtual Reference Library (subject area recommended websites)
• Quaestio (Online reference service)
• Electronic resources (data bases subscribed to provincially)
• Reference services
• Computers with Internet access and word processing/wi-fi also available

Homebound Service

 

Residents of Riverview who are unable to visit the library due to a medical condition or a disability may take advantage of our Homebound Service.  Patrons who participate in this program simply fill out a form which gives us an idea of the types of reading material they enjoy.  We select a number of items decided upon by the patron and deliver them to their home once a month.  Any previous month's selections are picked up if the patron is finished with them.  Deliveries are made either on the first or second Friday of each month. 

If you or someone you know would like to participate in this program, please contact the library and speak to any staff member.  Due to the fact that volunteers do our deliveries, we are unable to provide this service beyond the Town limits.
