The Municipalities Act is provincial legislation that enables municipalities to create and enforce by-laws to maintain the health, safety, and wellness of the community.
Town of Riverview by-laws are enacted by Council and maintained and enforced by our Inspection and Enforcement Department in collaboration with the Urban Planning Department at the City of Moncton.
The Community Planning Act allows municipalities to enact by-laws regarding land use and also includes provisions for enforcement and compliance of the legislation governing community planning and development. Land use by-laws establish policies and proposals which will guide and encourage the orderly economic, physical, social and environmental development of the Town of Riverview.
The by-laws posted on the Town of Riverview web site are the unofficial office consolidations and are for reference purposes only. They have no legislative sanction and may not, in all respects, be consistent with the paper version held in the Town Clerk's office. To obtain true and certified copies of by-laws, please contact the Town Clerk's office at 506-387-2136 or email@example.com. The electronic versions are updated on a regular basis with the date of the latest consolidation being indicated after the by-law title.
For enforcement related issues or inquiries regarding zoning issues such as building and development compliance, please contact the Inspection and Enforcement Officer at 506-387-2256 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
