Fire Prevention Week

Each year across North America, Fire Services proclaims the second week of October to be "Fire Prevention Week." The theme for 2016 Fire Prevention Week is 'Don't wait -Check the date! Replace smoke alarms every 10 years.'

Riverview Fire & Rescue will host its annual open house at the Riverview Fire Station on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Come get an up-close look at fire, rescue and EMS equipment and learn important fire prevention and safety tips. There will be also be fun interactive games for kids. Admission is free!

All events take place at the Riverview Fire Station (650 Pinewood Road) 

8-11 a.m. Pancake breakfast hosted by the Riverview Lions Club.

11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Children's activities including bouncers, face painting, antique fire trucks, a ride-along on Little Albert Engine 11 ½ and more.

12-2 p.m. Barbecue and refreshments courtesy of Enbridge Gas.
