Riverview has a thriving and active population of residents who are 60 years and older. Many have lived here all of their adult lives and some have even helped shape the community. The town's first tennis courts, the Byron Dobson Memorial Arena, the tourism bureau were all put in place years ago by these men and women intent on building a proud community which would enrich the lives of families living here. Today, these same people look on with pride as the Town continues to grow.
The Town of riverview makes facilities available to a number of seniors groups. Riverview has one of the most active Veterans Associations in the Atlantic Provinces and meets on a regular basis at the Coverdale Centre. Seniors maintain the Manchester bowling green.
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Relations provides a seniors bulletin called the "Silver Scroll" that is emailed out during the summer. The Silver Scroll contains details of all the activities, special events, trips, and seniors groups that are available in the area. If you are interested in receiving the bulletin by mail, please contact the office at 387-2024 to give them your mailing information or fill out our online form.
