Mill Creek Nature Park

The Town of Riverview has been actively working on the development of a master plan for Mill Creek Nature Park. In consultation with residents and identified stakeholders, the Town conducted workshops at local schools to discuss recreational activities students hope to see in the future park.

A public workshop session was held at Riverview Town Hall where residents were asked to take on the roles of park planner and designer. Beginning with the students' ideas, residents refined and expanded the list of desirable activities, assets and events and placed these within the park, resulting in a clear approach to developing Mill Creek Park as well as adjacent residential and commercial lands.

Through the consultation process, development themes emerged with four priorities clearly identified:

1. Nature
2. Play
3. Sport
4. Services

The Master Plan provides a framework for decisions related to the Mill Creek park land use and associated recreational/commercial activity.

Activity in the Park

A partnership between the Rotary Club of Moncton West and Riverview and the Town of Riverview has resulted in a generous contribution to the Mill Creek Nature Park. The Rotary Gateway will make roots at the public entrance to Mill Creek Nature Park located at the end of Runneymeade Road. This is a significant contribution to the Town and the first of many instalments and services planned for Mill Creek Nature Park.
