2019 Riverview Winter Carnival celebrates the coolest season with more than 40 activities

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) A highlight of Maritime winters since 1975, the Riverview Winter Carnival embraces ice and snow over 10 days of outdoor adventures, inclusive winter wellness activities and old fashioned play. Be part of the coolest celebration around, Feb. 1-10, 2019.

With a mix of 40 indoor and outdoor activities hosted by the Town of Riverview and community partners, festival-goers will find there’s something for everyone!

Ignite kicks off festivities on Feb. 1

Winter Carnival Ignite sets the festivities ablaze with fireworks at Winter Wonderland Park (Quinn Court) on Friday, Feb. 1. Bundle up for hot chocolate in the giant igloo from 6:30- 8 p.m. Weather permitting, there will also be skating on the outdoor oval – remember to bring your helmet!  Fireworks start at 7 p.m. Sliding is not permitted on Friday due to the fireworks display set-up.

Winter Wonderland Weekend, Feb. 2-3

With two days packed full of winter fun, Winter Wonderland Weekend is the most popular Winter Carnival event year after year! Bring the whole family out on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., to Winter Wonderland Park for a game of crokicurl (a mashup of crokinole and curling), sleigh rides, hot soup, s’more-making, maple taffy on the snow, sliding and snowboarding on the hill, and ice skating on the oval. Come and borrow a pair of ice sledges, a snow coach or sit-skis on loan from Para NB as seated options to make winter activities accessible for everyone. Activities are free; food is available for purchase.
