2022 Youth Appreciation Awards held in Riverview

To pay tribute to outstanding Riverview High School students, the 2022 Youth Appreciation Awards were held today at Riverview Skatepark and Youth Centre.

"Riverview's youth continue to make a positive difference in our community and each of today's winners have excelled in their category," said Mayor Andrew LeBlanc. "Congratulations to all of this year's award winners and thank you for making Riverview a great place to live." 

For more than 20 years, the Town of Riverview, RHS and the Optimiste Club Moncton-Dieppe have partnered to celebrate the achievements of eight Grade 12 RHS students, two in each of four categories: Arts, Sports, Academics and Community Service.

During today’s ceremony, the Optimiste Club Moncton-Dieppe – represented by its president, Julie Poitras – distributed certificates and monetary awards to the 2022 Youth Appreciation Award recipients. They included:

Arts:

  • Kayla Trites
  • Abbygail Willett

Sports:

  • Ella Webster
  • Ronan Jensen

Academics:

  • Sunghyun Kim (goes by Sally)
  • Yi Fan Ryan Zhou (goes by Ryan)

Community Service:

  • Indrid Burrell
  • Rebecca Thomas

The award ceremony took place during National Youth Week, which runs until Friday.
