Recommendations

  • Committee of the Whole recommends to approve the Storm Study Plan presented by the Dept. of Engineering and Public Works and give staff direction to include the results in the Town’s long-term capital budget plan. Council previously asked staff to investigate and find solutions to reduce the risk of flooding in residential areas following a storm event that took place on May 25, 2016, which saw approximately 85mm of rainfall over a 120 minute period. Basement and surface flooding was reported in the McAllister Park Subdivision, primarily on Hebron Street, Berkley Drive, McAllister Road and Grindstone Drive. The report includes preliminary cost estimates and priority sequencing.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to approve the Financial Incentive Program presented by the Director of Economic Development. The program is designed to encourage commercial development in the Town.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to approve the Asset Management Policy as presented. The policy adopts the internationally recognized asset management (AM) process applied to both owned tangible assets and any natural assets that the town relies on.

These recommendations will be brought forward for adoption at the next Regular Council Meeting.
