Council Statements and Inquiries

  • A moment of silence was observed in memory of former Riverview Town Councillor Ron Davis.
  • Council paid tribute to RCMP Supt. Tom Critchlow, who is retiring at the end of May.
  • Flags will be flown at half-mast on Town-owned buildings on Wednesday, April 28, to mark the National Day of Mourning for those workers killed or injured on the job. 

Petitions, Presentations and Delegations

  • Presentation by Trevor MacDougall and Marc Leger, Committee Members, Friends of Mill Creek, regarding land management and acquisition in the Mill Creek Nature Park area.

Other Business:

  • Committee of the Whole recommends to Riverview Town Council that staff investigate the feasibility of negotiating with the land owners to acquire the parcels of land needed to expand the Mill Creek Nature Park as put forth by the Friends of Mill Creek during their April 26 presentation.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends Riverview Town Council approve the 2020 Annual Report for the Town of Riverview.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends Riverview Town Council support the Sun Life Walk for the Cure (virtual event) in the amount of $500 being held on June 13, 2021 by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends Riverview Town Council direct staff to proceed with the replacement of the two gates at the Operation Centre and use the combined savings in the PWE/Utility capital and operating budget(s) of approximately $800k to $900k to pay for this work.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends Riverview Town Council endorse an information toolkit as outlined in the Council Report Form and authorize Town Staff to create a toolkit specific to Riverview. Committee of the Whole also recommends Town Staff bring back their recommendations to Council for consideration.
  • Mayor Seamans appointed Gerry Forsythe and Matt Kinnie to the Advisory Committee on Disabilities.
