Public Hearing

The Public Hearing was held as the Town of Riverview is considering an amendment to the Zoning By-Law. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to rezone the property bearing PID 05117155 from R1 to R2 to permit the construction of a semi-detached dwelling.

  • Janine Lisenchuk: Request for Council to support Friday, March 26, 2021, as Purple Day, a global event dedicated to promoting Epilepsy Awareness around the World.
  • Anita MacIntyre: Request to hold Riverview High School Grad Parade

Recommendations

  • Committee of the Whole recommends that Riverview Town Council authorize representatives of the 2021 Grad Class to conduct a parade through a portion of the Town of Riverview commencing at the Riverview Mall, right onto Coverdale, right onto Buckingham, right onto Whitepine, Right onto Trites Rd and then Right back into the Riverview Mall entrance off Trites on Monday, June 22, 2021 between the hour of 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.  Organizer of said parade must provide notification to the Riverview Fire & Rescue Department, the Engineering & Works Department, 911, Codiac RCMP and Codiac Transpo. It will be the responsibility of the parade organizer to ensure that all participants adhere to the social distancing protocols in place by the Province of New Brunswick and the Chief Medical Officer, and that an approved operational plan is in place for the event.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to Riverview Town Council to accept the recommendation to approve the audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2020 prepared by AC Stevenson & Partners, Chartered Professional Accountants and presented on March 22, 2021.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to Riverview Town Council to reappoint the firm AC Stevenson & Partners as auditors for the Town of Riverview for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to Riverview Town Council to postpone voting on the motion from Riverview Middle School to provide funding for a Spark bike until such time as further information regarding other sources of financing is received by the applicant.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to Riverview Town Council to approve the proposed Appreciation for Departing Elected Officials policy.

Appointment - Planning Advisory Committee

  • Mayor Seamans appointed Riverview resident John Trainor to a two-year term on the Planning Advisory Committee.

Special Council Meeting

By-Law Amendment – First Reading

  • Council gave first reading, by title only, to By-Law 300-7-4, A By-Law to Amend the Town of Riverview Zoning By-Law.

Tenders

Council awarded the following tenders:

  • Tender 21-07 for Asphalt Crack Sealing - Various Streets to AVL Construction Group Inc. in the amount of $30,800.00 plus HST.
  • Tender 21-50, Asphalt Concrete Paving Various Streets, Curb Replacement and New Sidewalk Irving Road to Classic Construction (2012) Ltd. in the amount of $741,375.00 plus HST.
  • Tender 21-81 for Lakeside Drive Water Main Renewal to Birch Hill Construction Ltd. in the amount of $329,605.00 plus HST.
