Adoption of the Minutes

First reading of by-laws to be enacted at the next Regular Council Meeting

  • By-Law 600-05-05 relating to the Control of Animals in the Town of Riverview
  • By-Law 700-90 respecting Flyer Distribution in the Town of Riverview
  • By-Law 700-75-01 relating to the Reduction of Single-Use Plastic Bags in the Town of Riverview (Amendment)
  • By-Law 700-31 relating to the Prevention of Excessive Noise in the Town of Riverview

Second and final reading of by-laws enacted by Council

Tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFP)

  • Tender 20-59, Cosburn Drive and Nowlan Drive Street Reconstruction, awarded to Modern Construction (1983) Ltd. in the amount of $1,474,248.25 (including HST).
  • Tender 20-60, Hebron Street Reconstruction, awarded to MacDonald Paving and Construction, a division of Miller Paving Limited in the amount of $1,240,072.89 (including HST).

Other Business

Council approved the audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2019 prepared by AC Stevenson & Partners, Chartered Professional Accountants.

Council approved the staff recommendations in regard to Pavement Management as per the presentation made at the Committee of the Whole meeting of April 27, 2020.

Council accepted the staff recommendation to proceed with the full closure of Gunningsville Boulevard from Coverdale to Pinewood on weekdays (6:30 a.m. Monday to 7:30 p.m. Friday) for a period of three weeks commencing May 18th to June 5, 2020.

Council approved Policy 01-2500-03-Animal Control By-law Procedures as outlined on April 27, 2020.

Council accepted the Terms of Reference for the Ad-Hoc Community Investment Policy Review Committee as submitted at the Committee of the Whole Meeting of April 27, 2020.

Council accepted the staff recommendation to amend  By-law 700-75-A By-law Relating to the Reduction of Single-Use Plastic Bags in the Town of Riverview be amended to change the effective date from July 1, 2020 to October 1, 2020.

Council accepted the staff recommendation to proceed with the award of capital projects.

Council approved the Coverdale Road Culvert Replacement project as recommended in report dated March 17, 2020 and include the project budget of $350,000 in the 2020 Capital Budget, with the understanding that 85% or $298K will be funding through the province’s designated highway fund and that 15% or $52K will be paid for by the Town.

Council reappointed AC Stevenson & Partners, CPA firm as auditors for the Town of Riverview for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2020.
