Presentation

Colin Smith, CAO for the Town of Riverview, presented a history of the commercial and tourism activity at the Fundy Chocolate River Station. He also clarified misconceptions relating to the proposal for development on this property.

Tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFP)

  • Award of Tender 19-75B in the amount of $142,819.64+HST to Larochelle Equipment for the purchase of a U Body dump/spreader box and plough equipment.

Other Business

Council made a motion to purchase under the Alternative Procurement Method a Cat 440 backhoe from Tormont Cat in the amount of $141,800+HST.

Mayor Seamans appointed four members to the Council Compensation Committee to bring forth salary recommendations for Mayor and Council effective with the new Council elected in May 2020. These members are Linda MacLeod, Eric Lewis, Bill MacBeath and George Murray.

Council passed the following resolutions for borrowing:

  • BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk and/or Treasurer and/or Mayor be authorized to issue and sell to the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation a Municipality of Riverview debenture in the amount of $1,707,000 on such terms and conditions as are recommended by the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation, this being in connection with refinancing maturing existing Debenture BB25, and be it resolved that the Municipality of Riverview agree to issue post-dated cheques payable to the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation as and when they are requested in payment of principal and interest charges on the above debenture.
     
  • BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk and/or Treasurer and/or Mayor be authorized to issue and sell to the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation a Municipality of Riverview debenture in the amount of $4,100,000 on such terms and conditions as are recommended by the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation, and be it resolved that the Municipality of Riverview agree to issue post-dated cheques payable to the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation as and when they are requested in payment of principal and interest charges on the above debenture.
