Enjoy a taste of spring at Riverview’s MapleFest, March 26-28

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – Take your sweet tooth for a spring stroll at the Town of Riverview's MapleFest, taking place March 26-28.

“This is a fun weekend that celebrates the classic Canadian tradition of the maple harvest with maple-infused menus and promotions all over town,” says Karen Thompson, Riverview’s Community Recreation Coordinator.

This year, Riverview has joined forces with Foods of the Fundy Valley to hold a maple tour that will span from Riverview to Alma. Participating Riverview businesses that will offer unique maple-themed specials include:

  • Old Time Meat Market, 711 Coverdale Rd.: Store-made maple sausages
  • Glass Roots, 406 Coverdale Rd.: Hand-blown maple syrup carafes
  • Holy Whale Beer Hall, 391 Coverdale Road: Maple beverages
  • Homestead Restaurant, 358 Coverdale Rd.: Maple Walnut Cheesecake
  • Royal Thai, 121 Pine Glen Rd.: Thai Maple Stir Fry and Maple Chicken Thighs
  • LuvPaws, 121 Pine Glen Rd.: Maple Bacon Leaves (dog biscuits)
  • Five Bridges, 121 Pine Glen Rd.: Maple Bacon Scallop Linguine with Briggs Maple Syrup
  • Terry’s Bake Shop, 605 Hillsborough Rd.: Maple Walnut Muffins and Spice Cake with Maple Cream Frosting

Thompson suggests starting your Riverview MapleFest weekend by picking up a free MapleFest reusable shopping bag at 10 a.m. Friday, March 26 in the Coverdale Centre parking lot, 50 Runneymeade Rd. Inside the bag will be all the ingredients needed to create your own MapleFest signature delicacy, The Briggs Maple S'more.

Then, on Sunday, March 28 at 2 p.m., join ‘Matt and Friends’ online as they guide you and your family, step by step, on how to assemble The Briggs Maple S'more, how to prepare maple popcorn and more! Other highlights of MapleFest will include a Maple Skate at Riverview’s Indoor Skatepark, featuring free maple treats from local maple producers, and a virtual foodie event, ‘Maple Cocktails and Canapes’.
