Fire Pit exemption lifted

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview wishes to advise residents that the Province of New Brunswick has lifted the Fire Pit exemption from the State of Emergency Mandatory Order. Residents wishing to use their fire pits will now have to comply with the Town’s Fire Protection By-law.

Residents must check the Provincial Government website (https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/news/public_alerts/forest_fire_watch.html) to see if there is a fire ban or not. This map is updated daily at 2 p.m.

Red - No Burn

Yellow - Restricted Burn (permitted 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily)

Green - Burning permitted

  1. Open fires are not permitted in the Town of Riverview at any time.
  2. Fire Pits cannot be used within town limits when our region is highlighted in Red.
  3. Fire Pits can only be used in town when the map for our area is green or yellow (within the restrictions applied).
  4. The Town of Riverview would like to remind residents that families should only socialise within their two-family “bubble” and should not invite neighbours, friends and extended family members not in their “bubble” to join you around the fire pit.
  5. Please remember to respect your neighbours by keeping the noise levels to a minimum and only burn clean dry wood.
