Selection process opens for 2021 Riverview Volunteer Awards

(RIVERVIEW, NB) – The Town of Riverview has opened the selection process for the 2021 Riverview Volunteer Awards.

“Each Riverview organization has the opportunity to select one volunteer who has gone above and beyond in their group dedication to receive the prestigious award,” says Karen Thompson, Community Recreation Coordinator for the Town of Riverview.

While there will not be an in-person event to honour individuals this year, Riverview Mayor Ann Seamans will give a virtual address to pay tribute to the award recipients on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. via the Town’s Facebook page. Awards will be delivered to recipients during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24.

In making their selections, Riverview organizations should note that while their candidate should be a resident of the town, volunteers from outside Riverview can be considered if their efforts directly enhance quality of life in the town.

Organizations are asked to submit the name of their award candidate no later than April 9, 2021. To make a submission, organizations are asked to go to http://bit.ly/2NGlQvq. They must provide the candidate’s name, mailing address, email, phone number and a brief description of why they chose the individual.
