Town of Riverview issues facility update as Zone 1 re-enters orange phase

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview wishes to update residents regarding the status of municipal facilities following the province’s decision to classify Zone 1 – which includes Riverview – in the ‘orange’ COVID-19 recovery phase as of midnight tonight.

As a result, the following Town of Riverview facilities will open in accordance with public health guidelines and each facility’s COVID-19 Operational Plan:

  • Byron Dobson Arena
  • Coverdale Centre
  • Bridgedale Centre
  • Indoor Skatepark, YOUth Drop-in Centre and Community Hall
  • Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre
  • Isaac’s Run Dog Park
  • Municipal playgrounds
  • Parks and trails
  • Fitness Studio, Biggs Drive 
  • Winter Wonderland sliding hill, snowboarding run and skating oval.

Regular user groups of these facilities are being contacted by the Town’s Parks and Recreation Department. Any individuals or user groups uncertain about events booked should contact the appropriate facility for further guidance.

Drop-in swimming at the Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre will resume as of Wednesday, Feb. 10. All rental groups and those participating in aquatic programming will be contacted with schedule information.

The Coverdale Centre and Bridgedale Centre will open for bookings that meet the orange phase public health regulations. Individuals and user groups are asked to contact the facility at 387-2037 for further guidance.

Pre-registration is required for all Skatepark sessions. Weekly activities can be booked online each Sunday at 11 a.m. at http://www.townofriverview.ca/parks-and-recreation/facilities/riverview-indoor-skatepark-youth-centre. For programming updates to YOUth Drop-In, please visit townofriverview.ca/dropin or call 380-0575.   

Residents are reminded that in the orange phase, face masks must be worn in indoor public spaces and outdoors where physical distancing of at least two metres cannot be maintained. Outdoor public spaces include parks, playgrounds, markets, festival sites, dog parks, and walking trails.
