Town Response COVID-19

The Town of Riverview is actively monitoring the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Like other municipalities, we are following the advice and recommendations of public health officials and thank the public for their collaboration.

Our municipal facilities have taken extra precautions to reduce the risk and avoid contamination. Additionally, the Town’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is now operating at Level 1 – Monitoring.

Following the guidelines of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (Public Health) in attempting to prevent further spread of the virus, the Town has made the decision to cancel all programming and events at the following locations effective immediately until further notice:

  • Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre
  • Byron Dobson Memorial Arena
  • Riverview Indoor Skatepark/Youth Centre
  • Fitness Studio
  • Community Hall

In addition, Parks & Recreation Spring & Summer Registration is postponed until further notice. The Town’s annual sustainability event, Sustaina-Palooza, has been cancelled, as has the Art Procurement Program's Spring Art Exhibit.

Residents are reminded that they should follow information from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (Public Health) for the most up to date and accurate information. You can get additional information here

Updates regarding possible closures at other municipal facilities will be made on our website at www.townofriverview.ca and through our social media sites.
