UPDATED: Town of Riverview issues facility update as Zone 1 enters red phase

FIND BELOW AN UPDATED RELEASE REGARDING FACILITIES IN THE TOWN OF RIVERVIEW:

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview wishes to update residents regarding the status of municipal facilities following the province’s decision to classify Zone 1 – which includes Riverview – in the red COVID-19 recovery phase.

The following Town of Riverview facilities are closed until further notice:

  • Byron Dobson Arena
  • Coverdale Centre
  • Bridgedale Centre (including Bridgedale Centre outdoor rink)
  • Community Hall
  • Indoor Skate Park
  • Youth Drop-in Centre
  • Pat Crossman Memorial Pool (aquatic rentals and all other aquatic programs)
  • Winter Wonderland Park outdoor rink, sliding hill and snowboarding run
  • All municipal playgrounds
  • Fitness Studio, 55 Biggs Dr.

Regular user groups of these facilities are being contacted by the Town’s Parks and Recreation Department. Any individuals or user groups uncertain about events booked should contact the appropriate facility for further guidance.

In addition, the following changes have taken effect in the Town of Riverview:

  • The dog park remains open with restricted access regarding the number of users permitted entry at a given time, as per the Province’s red phase guidelines.
  • Mill Creek Nature Park and Town of Riverview trails remain open but residents must practice physical distancing of two metres. If that distance cannot be maintained, a mask must be worn.
  • The lights on the Riverfront Trail will remain ‘on’ until the end of Riverview Winter Carnival in February. Since Riverview’s Riverfront Trail is less than three meters wide and, in some places narrower, all trail users must wear a mask.

The Town would also like to remind the public that face coverings are required in all buildings owned and operated by the municipality. We thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this challenging time.

Updates on the reopening of Town facilities will be communicated as soon as possible on social media and the COVID-19 webpage: https://www.townofriverview.ca/coronavirus-covid-19
