Vote to win funding for the Riverview Indoor Skatepark

A well-loved Riverview recreation facility is up for big money through a community funding program and needs your support to win!

Riverview’s indoor skatepark has been accepted by the Aviva Community Fund to be considered under the Big Ideas fund. Winning ideas in this category are recognized for bringing people together in their community and also have long-lasting impact. The prize is $100,000 and seven consolation prizes of $15,000 will be awarded.

In his submission, the skatepark’s manager Ross Smith said, “The Riverview Indoor Skatepark has not only been supporting the youth of Riverview, N.B, but as one of the only indoor skateboard facilities in the Atlantic Provinces, has been catering to youth and families from all over the Maritimes for the past 13 years.” He continued, “The facility has hosted hundreds of community events, organized and administered hundreds of hours of youth programming, as well as fostered a sense of community through our services that is talked about nationwide. With the help of the Aviva Community Fund the facility would be able to receive the many needed updates to ensure the fostering of active healthy youth continues through an amazing unstructured physical activity and heathy relationship building.”

The voting period opened September 25 and will continue until October. 4. Everyone who registers to vote will have 10 votes to spend on the community project of their choice.

You can learn about how the funding will be spent and vote for the Riverview Indoor Skatepark through the Aviva Community Fund website.
