John Coughlan

Elected in May 2016, John Coughlan is serving his second term as a councillor for Ward 2. Before running for Council, he spent his 38-year career working in the transportation sector at both CN and Via Rail.

Councillor Coughlan has strong roots in Riverview and is a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. To his work on Council, he brings a commitment to grow the community through sound economic growth while ensuring residents receive access to quality services and programs they have come to expect.

When he is not serving residents of Riverview, Councillor Coughlan enjoys spending time in the community with his two daughters and four grandsons. He enjoys hiking (especially at Mill Creek Nature Park), music, and taking part in the many festivals and events that make Riverview a great place to live for residents of all ages.
