Wayne Bennett

Wayne Bennett has been Councillor for Ward 4 since 2004. Wayne has served on many boards and committees that have helped to make Riverview a healthy and vibrant community. He believes his most important responsibility is to be an advocate and voice for the people of his Ward to make certain Riverview residents continue to receive the services they have come to expect. Wayne believes work at the grass roots level is key to maintaining this quality of life and he works closely with town staff to ensure the best decisions are made on behalf of residents. 

For many years, Wayne worked with Bonté Foods as National Sales Manager and Vice-President of North American Sales. His experience in building relationships has been important in helping him to represent Ward 4 residents and the town. Since elected to Council, Wayne has actively supported growing programs and services that provide a good quality of life. 

When he is not serving residents of Ward 4, Wayne enjoys woodworking, gardening, walking the trails of Mill Creek Nature Park and biking along Riverview’s many trails. He attends numerous community events, including his favourites the Canada Day celebrations and Winter Carnival activities, and he always enjoys welcoming newcomers to the community.
