The Town of Riverview is seeking candidates for the summer student position of Community Events Assistant with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Relations from May 30th to August 26th.

The selected candidate will assist the Community Events Coordinator with planning, organizing, implementing and supervising community events throughout the summer with an emphasis on online engagement while under COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education and/or returning in the fall.
  • Proof of valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory roles through work experience, volunteer positions, membership in organizations, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web applications such as ZOOM and Go to Meetings, internet research and social media.
  • Knowledge of Town of Riverview brand as well as an interest in graphic design would be an asset.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively work with the public.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Town of Riverview policies, procedures, rules and regulations, an asset.
  • Current NB Driver’s Abstract, meeting Town’s standards.
  • Current Criminal Record Check, meeting Town’s standards.
  • Proof of Workplace First Aid and CPR/AED certification must be provided at least two weeks prior to the position start date.
