The Town of Riverview is seeking candidates for the summer student position of Community Garden Facilitator with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Relations from May 9th to August 26th.

The selected candidate will plan, organize, promote and implement programs focusing on the Community Garden Initiative. The incumbent will also assist in the preparation and ongoing development of the community garden infrastructure, garden plot layout and amenities. They will also develop workshops (virtually and in person) designed to support intergenerational learning with the community garden.     

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education and/or enrolled in the fall.
  • Proven leadership roles through work and / or volunteer experience.
  • Experience using multimedia including Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and social media.
  • Knowledge of Town of Riverview brand and an interest in gardening would be an asset.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively work with the public.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Town of Riverview policies, procedures, rules and regulations, an asset.
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening meeting Town’s expectations.
  • Proof of Workplace First Aid and CPR/AED certification must be provided at least two weeks prior to the position start date.
