The Town of Riverview is seeking candidates for the summer student position of Junior Leadership Facilitator with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Relations from May 9th to August 26th.

The selected candidate will lead the Junior Leadership and Leading from Home team, plan, organize, schedule, promote, implement and evaluate the Junior Leadership Program/Leading from Home specifically designed for youth volunteer’s ages 11 to 15 years, with a focus on online engagement during COVID-19. While following/adhering to current Public Health guidelines.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education and/or returning in the fall.
  • Proof of valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Proven leadership roles through work experience, volunteer positions, membership in organizations, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web applications such as ZOOM and Go to Meetings, internet research and social media.
  • Knowledge of Town of Riverview brand as well as an interest in graphic design would be an asset.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team-oriented, self-directed with good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with youth.
  • Familiarity with Town of Riverview policies, procedures, rules and regulations, an asset.
  • Current NB Driver’s Abstract, meeting Town’s standards.
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening, meeting Town’s standards.
  • Proof of Workplace First Aid and CPR/AED certification must be provided at least two weeks prior to the position start date.
