EXTERNAL REPORTS

INTERNAL REPORTS

  • All departments shared their reports for February 2023
  • Director Shea provided updates on the Byron Dobson arena, including supply chain issues that are stalling repairs. The heating system in the upper arena is still under repair (awaiting parts). The scoreboard in the lower arena is also out of service and awaiting parts to fix the issue. The department's search for alternative systems and equipment to rent has yet to find any viable options. Expediting repairs remains a top priority, within these constraints.
  • 50th Anniversary Merchandise now available to the public! Due to high demand, the first clothing drop of adult t-shirts and sweaters is open for purchase until March 8. Based on feedback and interest in the 50th anniversary store, Town staff will plan future merchandise drops throughout 2023 - including but not limited to, mugs, hats, children's sizes, and new shirt styles. A portion of the proceeds from 50th merchandise sales will go to supporting Riverview P.R.O. Kids.

OTHER BUSINESS

  • Proposed Changes to Building By-Law - passed a recommendation to adopt proposed changes to the Building By-law. New regulations in the provincial act require municipal by-laws to be in line with the act.
  • K. Brewer, Plan360 - Proposed Rezoning Buckingham Avenue - Kirk Brewer brought forward a proposed development of two, 70-unit apartment buildings with access off Buckingham Avenue. The proposed development would be erected on a wooded lot between Buckingham and Riverview High School. Council made a motion to move forward with the rezoning process, which will include a Planning Advisory Committee meeting, Public Hearings and additional readings of the by-law prior to reaching a decision on the project.
