Town of Riverview / Food Sustainability Series

Exploring Food Sustainability in Your Community

The Town of Riverview would like to take you on a free 12-week virtual educational experience featuring ‘how-to’ videos designed to encourage sustainable food practices, while highlighting the importance of food security and sustainability. You're invited to participate in an interactive cooking experience with culinary expert, Chef Cherrie Moreault, and a number of special guests to create delicious recipes using locally sourced products and ingredients. This series is brought to you by the Town of Riverview with the help of our partners at Food Depot Alimentaire, Food for All NB, The Farmers' Truck, and the Albert County Food Bank.

An Experience for the Entire Family

In addition to discovering the importance of accessing local and sustainable food sources, participants will learn how to implement sustainable food practices at home and within their own communities. Now more than ever, it is critical to support our essential farmers, processors and manufacturers to grow our economies and local food markets. Join us on our weekly series for interactive education in the comfort of your own kitchen.

What is Food Sustainability?

Cooking, sourcing and growing nutritious foods for the entire family is the driving force behind this series. These webinars will teach participants how to create family-friendly, sustainable food recipes in their own homes, with their own tools, while also exploring new ways to integrate a variety of products that come from our province. This series will unveil the many wonders of living in New Brunswick and the ways to access, and grow, nutritious food for all.

About Chef Cherrie

Our educator will be Chef Cherrie Moreault, owner and operator of The Little Olive Tree and Lead Chef at ChefTorial. As a self taught chef, Cherrie developed an interest for the culinary arts at an early age. Chef Cherrie’s resume includes being a Mixologist, Front and Back of House Server at VIA Rail, Supervisor and Manager. As a result, Chef Cherrie has mentored with some of Canada’s premier chefs on the railway. Her entrepreneurial flare eventually led her to owning her own food tour and beverage tasting business.
