Celebrate the fourth annual Rebecca Schofield Day with acts of kindness, Sept. 19, 2020

[RIVERVIEW, NB] - On Saturday, September 19, 2020, Riverview residents are encouraged to perform acts of kindness to mark the fourth annual Rebecca Schofield Day.

The annual day in her name recognizes Becca’s campaign urging others to spread kindness, which started in Becca’s hometown of Riverview during her treatments for brain cancer and rapidly caught on worldwide before her passing in 2019.

It is also known as the #BeccaToldMeTo movement.

On May 14, 2017, the legislative assembly of New Brunswick unanimously passed a motion recognizing the third Saturday of September as Becca Schofield Day. Schofield lost her battle with cancer on Feb. 17, 2018, at the age of 18. Later in the year, she was named posthumously as a recipient of the Order of New Brunswick.
