Special Council Meeting – January 25, 2021 (Virtual)

Recommendations 

  • Committee of the Whole recommends to move forward in the process to consider the rezoning of PID 05117155 from R1 (Single-Unit Dwelling) to R2 (Two-Unit Dwelling).
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to Town Council to approve the updated Terms of Reference for the Advisory Committee on Disabilities.
  • Committee of the Whole recommends to postpone the backyard chicken-only amendment proposed to the Zoning By-law and include urban agriculture/food security as part of the upcoming overall Municipal Plan review.

Other Business

Council was advised that work has begun on the 2021 Local Improvement projects. Local Improvements will be completed this year on:

- Montgomery Avenue (Whitepine to Fairfax)

- Toth Street

Appointments

At the Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor Ann Seamans appointed Barb Michaud, Andrea Best, Denise Kinney and Tammy Johnson to the Advisory Committee on Disabilities. Patrick Grew was appointed to the Greater Moncton Airport Authority Board.

At the Special Council meeting, Council appointed Robin True as Fire Chief effective January 25, 2021 and as Director of the Town of Riverview Emergency Measures Organization.
