RECOMMENDATIONS FROM COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE

· Mill Creek Service Boundary - Council approved a motion to take the necessary steps to proceed with the process of changing the Town's Urban Growth Boundary through amendments to the Municipal Plan and the Zoning By-Law, as outlined in the presentation made to Riverview Town Council on June 27, 2022 with respect to Thrive Properties. View details on the previous presentation to Council. 

· Council passed a motion to direct staff to not proceed with the acquisition of the Mitton Road Covered Bridge.

· Council moved to adopt a new purchasing policy that sets new limits.

· Council passed a motion to recommend that we buy two season passes to the Moncton Wildcats for $1201.20. The Wildcats are supporters of the P.R.O Kids program and the tickets purchased will be distributed to Riverview families.

NEW BUSINESS

· Council received an update on mid-year status of our strategic plan from CAO, Colin Smith.

· Grant report - Council received a request from the FLB Home and School Association to pay $2,000 toward the cost of hiring a private security company to patrol the school’s playground (Becca Schofield All World Super Play Park). Council passed a motion to postpone the vote until after a meeting is held with the group and some community partners to talk about other options for addressing the security and safety concerns. (6-1 vote)

· Council voted to award Contract No. 22-21 - Vehicle Computers to Action Car & Truck Accessories in the amount of $4,468.10 plus HST and that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to sign all related documentation.

· Council vote to award "RFP #22-34 Riverview Recreation Complex" to MJMA/Acres Architecture for the completion of pre-design and schematic design phases in the amount of $444,800.00 plus HST and that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to sign all related documentation.

· Councillor-at-large Heath Johnson provided an update from the 50th Anniversary Committee on the work they are doing to prepare for next year's celebrations. They are seeking consensus from Council on the parameters within which  to make those plans. Council gave direction to use a maximum of $150K as a target for their planning and asked that three different options be presented in September. At that point Council will decide which direction to go in and a vote on the budget will only take place during the 2023 budget deliberations.
