Second and final reading of by-laws enacted by Council

  • By-law 700-75  -  A by-law relating to the reduction of single use plastic bags in the Town of Riverview.

Presentation

Brent Ayles from Ayles Natural Landscaping Ltd., Riverview High School student Sheldon Donovan and Riverview High School teacher Robert Glenan provided an update on plans for an outdoor memorial garden at Riverview High School.
           

Monthly Grant Report

  • Council accepted the monthly grant report for July 2019.
  • $500 Filipino Association of New Brunswick’s Family Day on August 5, 2019
  • $1200.60 for the purchase of Moncton Wildcats 2019-2020 season tickets
  • $1000 to the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Moncton’s Greater Moncton Excellence Awards on October 23, 2019.

Policies

  • None presented.

Tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFP)

  • Award of RFQ to Charles Smith Construction Ltd in the amount of $9343.75 for the demolition of property at 255 Hillsborough Road, removal of building, and accessory building, filling in hole and grading.
  • Award of RFP 19-FIN-01 to AC Stevenson for financial auditing services for a five-year period effective for the fiscal year on January 1, 2019 plus two option years.

Other Business

Council endorsed the updated 10-Year General Capital and Utility Budget.

Council made a motion to accept the Pension and Benefits Committee’s recommendation to award the renewal contract for health, dental and insurance benefits to the incumbent Manulife Financial.

Council adopted the updated 5-Year Capital Investment plan for the Gas Tax Fund.  

Council received the 2019 Strategic Plan Progress Report.
