Adoption of the Minutes

First reading of by-laws to be enacted at the next Regular Council Meeting

  • By-law 700-11 a by-law relating to the traffic, parking and the use of streets in the Town of Riverview
  • By-law 700-70 a by-law respecting tall grasses in the Town of Riverview

Second and final reading of by-laws enacted by Council

  • None presented

Presentation

  • Marie-Claire Pierce, senior transit planner for Codiac Transpo, presented two route options that could be considered to implement better service for transit riders.           

Monthly Grant Report

  • $500 to Moncton Mustangs Football
  • $5000 in support of the 2019 Riverview High School graduation
  • $1000 in support of the 2019 Run for Women event hosted by the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre on May 5, 2019

Policies

  • Council adopted the Policy for Preventing Workplace Violence.

Tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFP)

  • Tender 19-38 in the amount of $39,037 excluding HST to Taylor Ford Sales Ltd. for one new 2019 4x4 crew cab.
  • Tender 19-39 in the amount of $25,768.06 less trade-in and excluding HST to Green Diamond Equipment for two new commercial zero-turn mowers.
  • Tender 19-43 in the amount of $80,640 excluding HST to Nova International Limited for one new 4.5T rubber track compact excavator with cab and tilt angle blade.
  • Tender 19-62 in the amount of $1,003,906.88 to MacArthur’s Paving and Construction Company Limited for Devere Road and Orin Drive reconstruction.
  • Tender 19-71 in the amount of $44,764 to Roadway Systems Limited for the replacement of underground duct and wiring for street lights – Warren Avenue.
  • Tender 19-81 in the amount of $339,550 to MacArthur’s Paving and Construction Company Limited for Hillsborough Road and Karolie Road water main renewal.

Other Business

  • Council approved the motion to proceed with lane marking changes on Hillsborough Road (Hillview Ave to Old Coach Road) during the scheduled resurfacing of that road in Summer 2019.
  • Council approved the motion to proceed with the proposed waste management study in 2019.
