Fall Bulk Waste Collection: Sept. 28-Oct. 2
RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – Bulk Waste Collection is back! The Town of Riverview’s Fall collection will take place the week of September 28 – October 2, 2020.
This is an opportunity for residents to get rid of furniture, household appliances, large electronics, yard clippings, etc.
Per the By-Law 400-15-3 Garbage Collection, waste is only permitted at the curb at 6 p.m. on the night prior to collection. By-law officers will make an exception for bulk waste collection and allow those items only to be at the curb starting at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27.
Remember, you can also donate gently-used furniture and household items to EnviroPlus (853-7722) and Habitat for Humanity ReStore (384-4664).
Here are some handy tips ahead of Bulk Waste Collection week:
- Items should NOT be placed curbside until the week of collection. Items will typically be collected on your usual garbage collection day.
- Prior to putting items curbside, residents should consult the list of non-collection items on page 9 of the Town’s Garbage Collection By-law above. Any further questions should be directed to Public Works on 506-387-2030.
- If items are not collected, and they are NOT included on the non-collection list, please call Public Works at the number above the day after your usual pick-up day to report this.
- Branches must be bundled. Bundles should not exceed 0.6 m (2 ft) in diameter or 1.2 metres (4 ft) in length.
- Each bag must weigh less than 18kg (40lb).
- Black bags will not be collected.
- Tires will not be collected.
- Household hazardous waste presents a danger to collectors and will not be picked up at the curb. This includes batteries, cooking oil, aerosols, paint, light bulbs, fertilizers, chemicals, CFL bulbs, propane tanks, etc.
- Wood and construction debris will not be collected
