Fall program registration opens Sept. 2

Fall is just around the corner and staff at the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Relations are excited to welcome you back! Registration opens Thursday, September 2 at 10 a.m. for all programs. You can register on our website or in-person (55 Biggs Drive) or over the phone (387-2024). Here's a look at all the ways you can stretch your body and mind this season: 

Fitness Classes (16+ and 60+) 

Fitness classes are offered in our Fitness Studio at 55 Biggs Drive.

Morning and evening classes available.

Yoga, aerobics, and other dynamic classes.

Dance Classes (Children up to age 13) 

Dance classes are offered in our Fitness Studio at 55 Biggs Drive.

Every Saturday from early morning to mid-afternoon.

Classes for children ages 3 -13. 

Aquatic Activities / Swimming Lessons (All ages) 

Aquatic activities are offered at the Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre at 400 Whitepine Road.

Drop-in times available for social swims, lane swims, open swims and Aquafit.

Registered Swimming lessons and Certifications.

Outdoor Activities 

Mill Creek Trail Miners: A volunteer trail building activity every Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in Mill Creek Nature Park. Learn to build sustainable, single-track trails for hiking and mountain biking. 

Learn to Hike: An introductory course to the essentials of hiking. Takes place over six Saturday mornings and covers Mill Creek Nature Park and the Dobson Trail.

Bushcraft: A two-part course with an evening introduction followed by a full day in the field. Learn how to thrive in the wild and discover sustainable survival techniques. 

NEW - Group Guitar Lessons for Youth 

Every Wednesday night at 7:45 p.m. in our Fitness Studio at 55 Biggs Drive.

This program offers a beginner guitar, picks, a capo, and 12 weeks of group guitar lessons.

Class is for youth ages 12 - 18. If you are interested in this program for a different age group, please email Brandon at bcrossman@townofriverview.ca.

Children & Youth Opportunity Fair

Happening from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11th in the Upper Arena of the Byron Dobson Memorial Arena. 

A free activity fair for children & youth (ages 5 - 18) to discover recreational activities and volunteer opportunities. 

Riverview Minor Hockey will be running in-person registration on this day so be sure to stop by if you're planning to lace up this winter!
