Grass Home breaking ground at new development site

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Grass Home, a seniors’ residential facility known for its specialized and personal care practices, will be expanding its existing location in the Town of Riverview to accommodate a growing demand for a long-term care and needs for seniors.

John and Lynn Grass, owners and operators at The Grass Home, will be breaking ground today, August 29, at 707 Coverdale Road, 3 p.m., accompanied by Mayor Ann Seamans, to signal the beginning of yet another development project in the Town of Riverview. “Riverview offers some of the most desirable real estate in New Brunswick thanks to our low cost of doing business and available land,” said Mayor Ann Seamans. “It’s wonderful to see established members of our local business community succeed and continue to put their faith in Riverview for future projects.”

This new 13-thousand square-feet facility will accommodate 36 beds and create up to 40 jobs in the area. “This is an ideal infill project for Coverdale Road and supports our strategy to create high-value, good jobs,” says Shane Thomson, Director of Economic Development at the Town of Riverview. The Grass Home offers client-centered services that follows a uniquely designed model, allowing occupiers to feel at home while receiving top-of-the-line care. “As we celebrate our 20th anniversary in business, we are excited to announce the launch of our second care facility in Riverview. The home was specifically designed to be a non-institutional facility furnished and equipped with all the comforts of home,” says John Grass, owner and operator at The Grass Home. “Creating a home-like environment is very important to us, which is why we’ve created a space where we are the guests and not the other way around,” says Grass.

As part of Riverview’s effort to accelerate and encourage ongoing commercial growth, a new financial incentive program was launched to attract a steady stream of progressive property owners. The Grass Home will be the first official application to apply for the Town‘s new assessment-based financial rebate. “We understand that cash-flow can be a critical factor in commercial project planning, and this program alleviates some of those budget pressures,” says Thomson.

Apart from the program that would assist The Grass Home in its most critical years, John and business partner Lynn also chose the Town of Riverview due to its quality of life and sense of community. “Riverview is a great place to raise a family, has well-kept residential areas and is dedicated to promoting and encouraging an active lifestyle. I grew up here, I have other successful businesses here, and I plan to grow here,” says Grass.

The construction is expected to take 44 weeks with an official end date of July 2019.
