Holiday waste collection and Christmas tree pick-up

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) The Town of Riverview is advising residents there will be no changes to the waste collection schedule over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

To keep both workers and residents safe, please do not place garbage bags on top of snow banks. Crews are not permitted to climb snowbanks to collect items. Instead, place waste at the end of the driveway about a metre from the road, where they will be visible to crews.

"Ideally in the winter months, garbage should be placed a few feet back from the end of the driveway. If that's not possible, reducing the size of the snow bank before placing bags there will greatly reduce the risk of injury to residents and haulers," says Meghan Cross, Communications Coordinator.

Christmas tree pick-up

When the holidays are over, the Town of Riverview will offer a free Christmas tree pick-up. Place your natural at your curb on your regular pick-up day during the week of January 7, 2019.  Please ensure that all decorations, tinsel and lights are removed from the tree. Due to demand, your tree may be collected a few days after regular collection.
