Multinational Company Promises Job Creation in Riverview

On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, the Government of New Brunswick announced the establishment of a new business services centre on Coverdale Road to accommodate multinational information technology company, Tech Mahindra.

As a significant investment in the local area, Tech Mahindra is scheduled to create 116 jobs resulting in an economic injection of $26.2 million to the provincial GDP and roughly $1.3 million in income taxes over the next five years. Following the announcement, Amit Dhingra, Vice President and Global Head of International Centres, Transition and Shared Services at Tech Mahindra, announced that job creation would be closer to 200 positions in total.

Tech Mahindra, a leading company in business process services headquartered in Mumbai, India, chose to locate in New Brunswick due to its quality of life, low operating costs, skilled labour force and customer service. “As the Vice President and Global Head of International Centres, I manage all of our international centres across the globe. I must say, I’ve received the best customer service from New Brunswick,” said Dhingra.

“Today’s announcement proves that our local brand is alive and well, and that it continues to attract international interest. Our competitive cost environment, skilled workforce and quality of life are being noticed and we plan to continue our efforts in support of businesses that choose to locate in Riverview,” says Shane Thomson, Director of Economic Development at the Town of Riverview. “This is a company choosing Riverview over any other city in the province - this is what we mean when we talk about aligned values attracting business,” says Thomson in reference to the company’s ‘Wellness First’ campaign.
