New Operator Announced for Canteen at the Byron Dobson Memorial Arena

Rink food just got more flavourful! The Town of Riverview is pleased to announce Authentic Asian Food has been chosen as the business to operate the Canteen at the Byron Dobson Memorial Arena. From January-March 2023, Authentic Asian Food will be helping rink-goers stay warm and nourished with a variety of local favourites like poutine and breakfast options, as well as Asian fusion menu items. 

“It’s exciting to have Authentic Asian Food transfer their culinary skills to the Byron Dobson Memorial Arena canteen along with offering an inviting family restaurant style atmosphere for the community to enjoy," said Yat-Long Murphy, Community Engagement Worker - Business for the Town of Riverview.

Authentic Asian Food operates a seasonal food truck at 394 Coverdale Road. This opportunity will allow them to continue to serve the public during the winter months.

There was a great amount of interest in the opportunity to operate the Canteen next year, with many high-quality submissions received from local business owners through the request for proposal process with closed on November 14, 2022. The Town would like to thank all those who expressed interest in the opportunity.

Vendor selection was based on the ability to provide healthy, fresh food options alongside non-alcoholic beverages to enhance the experience of the arena. It was expected that the selected operator would generate economic activity by creating sources of employment and income, financial return to the Town, as well as encourage the production and sale of local New Brunswick products.

Authentic Asian Food promises to be an extension of the community and continue to work with other small businesses and partners in the area to fuel patrons with high quality food.
