Nominations Open for Jim DeWolfe Community Spirit Award

Each year, the prize celebrates a current or former long-time Riverview resident and/or business owner who has made an outstanding contribution to our community. Award winners help shape our community in many ways, including community engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropy.

Created in 2013, the award was named for Jim DeWolfe, a long-time resident whose generous contributions and volunteer efforts in Riverview stretched over six decades. Jim DeWolfe devoted his life to volunteerism, leadership and community growth until he passed away in 2021 at the age of 93. He is remembered and honoured as an inspiring example of how a single person can impact an entire community.

“Riverview has some of the most caring and giving people and I encourage everyone to nominate that person or business who has given freely of their time for the benefit of this community and its residents” says Mayor LeBlanc.

Nominations for the 2021 Jim DeWolfe Community Spirit Award will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022. An independent committee will review and select the recipient that best fits the award's criteria. Riverview Mayor Andrew Leblanc will announce the recipients of the 2022 Jim DeWolfe Community Spirit Award and the 2022 Riverview Volunteer Awards on Monday, April 25.
