Riverview SUNFEST returns June 25 to July 1

(RIVERVIEW, NB) – The Town of Riverview’s 19th annual SUNFEST summer festival kicks off June 25 with lively outdoor events for six days, leading up to and including Canada Day fun.

 

“We’re excited to welcome back in-person SUNFEST events this year, especially, Canada Day festivities,” said Mayor Andrew J. LeBlanc. “Celebrating the kick-off to summer in person with friends and neighbours is something that's been missed the past couple of years. Riverview residents are looking forward to enjoying the many outdoor events with their families, in particular the free swim at Lion Ken Gabbey Pool and Signal Hill rocking out in Caseley Park.”
 

SUNFEST is open to Riverview residents as well as those from surrounding communities who wish to join the fun. Events will include:

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 25 – FRIDAY, JULY 1

  • 9:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Come out for SUNFEST days at the Albert County Museum. With 2-for-1 admission, Heritage Hunt, daily prizes, and one grand prize!

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 25

  • 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Buy or sell in the second annual Town-Wide Yard Sale, rain or shine! Register your Riverview property address to be added to the virtual map! All details can be found at www.townofriverview.ca/yardsale
  • 9 a.m. It is almost time for the Riverview Lions Club Community Bingo! Check the Riverview Lions Club Facebook page for full event details, bingo cards and instructions. New cards will be posted at 9 a.m. on select SUNFEST Days. Another fun event for those who have a smartphone is the Riverview Lions Club Photo Scavenger Hunt. Participants will be given a list of things to find throughout Riverview or a task to complete, both that will be all captured on their smartphone (pictures/video). Details will be posted to Riverview Lions Club Facebook page 
  • 9:00 a.m.- 4:00p.m.  This is your chance to participate in this outdoor, fast paced high flying 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at RES. Get your team together - we'll provide the gameday atmosphere; you bring the competition! Check out www.townofriverview.ca/3on3 for details on fees and how to register.
  • 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Learn to play the fastest growing sport in all of North America at the Family Pickleball Boot Camp (at Old Coach rd Pickleball Courts). Equipment and training will be provided, just bring your court shoes. Send an email to riverviewpickleball@gmail.com to register for this fun event.
  • 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Located on the waterfront in Riverview, alongside the walking trail, the Art in your Face Outdoor Art Show. Visit the Event Page on Facebook for more details.
  • 10:30 a.m.-12:00p.m. Come out to Caseley Park and The Riverview Public Library from for some fun at the Summer Reading Club Launch Party. Visit The Riverview Library Facebook page for more details.
  • 10:00 a.m. Come celebrate our inaugural SUNFEST HuckFest Disc Golf Tournament at CDT Disc Golf Course. Registration details will be posted on the CDT Disc Golf Facebook page, so check it out!

 

MONDAY, JUNE 27

  • Celebrate Canadian multiculturalism day by trying various cultural dishes at our local restaurants! Check out www.townofriverview.ca/menus

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 28

  • 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Parkland Riverview is hosting a Giant Card Party. Book your table of 4 or more today, spaces limited. There will be door prizes, a special treat available. Please call 506-387-7770 to register
  • 1:30 – 6:00 p.m. Come Swim into Summer with us at the Lion Ken Gabbey Pool! This is a free swim for all ages!

 

 

WESNESDAY, JUNE 29

  • Canadian Forces Snowbirds “Soldier on Air Display”
  • 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. For the first time ever, SUNFEST will be hosting a Beach Volleyball Tournament for youth aged 12-17! Hosted at the newly formed Lions Park Beach Volleyball Courts. Sign your team up today!

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 30

  • 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Parkland Riverview is hosting an Outdoor Concert featuring Ivan & Vivian Hicks. Join us around our gazebo and fish pond for an afternoon of entertainment! Please bring your own lawn chair if you can as our chairs are limited.

FRIDAY, JULY 1

  • 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Canada Day celebrations are back! Join us at Caseley Park for our live entertainment. This year starts off with Paul Toner and Flea Market Underground followed by a performance from fan-favourite - Signal Hill.  In addition, there will be local food trucks, Glow Parties amusements, face painting, Junior Leader canteen and much more!
  • 10:00 p.m. Tri-Community Canada Day Fireworks

 

SUNFEST GEOCACHING CHALLENGE

Cache Up NB is pleased to share a newer outdoor geocaching activity that we hope will connect you and your family to Riverview's amazing outdoor green spaces during SUNFEST! They have created a unique “Adventure Lab” called "Riverview Outdoor Adventures" that will teach you more about the community's parks, trails and open green spaces. Complete the Adventure Lab to earn a limited edition Riverview SUNFEST 2022 Geocoin. This year's design is inspired by the bandstand, located in Caseley Park.
