Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban comes into effect

[RIVERVIEW, NB] - In 2019, the communities of Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview passed a by-law restricting businesses from distributing some single-use plastic bags as part of an effort to curb plastic waste across our region.

In light of COVID-19, the original implementation date of July 1, 2020, was delayed as numerous stores were not permitting reusable bags.

As of today (October 1, 2020), single-use plastic bags will no longer be available at businesses that offer bags at checkout. To find out more about the by-law or to make your #Bagplan, visit the MyBagPlan website, which includes lots of information, resources and tips whether you're a consumer or a retailer.
