Town of Riverview seeking input during signage by-law review

The Town of Riverview is undertaking a review of its signage regulations to ensure they reflect best safety practices, incorporate new technologies and protect community aesthetics.

Based on public feedback obtained through a community-wide survey in September 2017, staff drafted amendments to the Municipal Development Plan and Zoning By-Laws, and a new corresponding Portable Sign By-Law.

Now, it’s time to hear from you again. Before the draft by-laws are presented to Council for consideration, the Town is returning to the public to seek input on the draft documents.

Two open houses will be held at Riverview Town Hall (30 Honour House Court) to gather feedback from the business community and general public.

  • Monday, July 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. – Consultation with members of the Riverview business community. There will be a presentation tailored to commercial use of the proposed by-laws by urban planner Andrew Smith at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. – Informal drop-in session for all residents.

In both sessions, visitors will have the chance to review the proposals, share feedback and ask questions about the proposed drafts.

Can’t make it to the meeting? You can share your feedback online at www.townofriverview.ca/signreview until Friday, July 20, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
