Town operated playground structures closed until further notice

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview has made the tough decision to temporarily close all playground structures located at Town-owned parks or recreation facilities.

The closure will be in effect immediately, 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and will remain in effect until further notice.

This decision was made in an effort to further reduce the spread of COVID-19 and ensure social distancing protocol is followed, as per recommendations from New Brunswick’s Chief Medical Officer of Health.

Signage is being installed at the Town-owned playgrounds listed below:

  • Goldsboro Avenue Park
  • Rebecca Avenue Park
  • Irving Road Park
  • Whitepine Road Park
  • Brewster Street Playground
  • Manchester Crescent Park
  • Wentworth Drive Park
  • Byron Court Playground
  • Lions Community Park
  • Patricia Park Cleveland Avenue
  • Riverfront Park
  • Out gym Exercise Park
  • Ridgeway Drive Park
  • McAllister Road Park
  • Edison Crescent Park
  • Gunningsville Road Park
  • Redwater Drive Park
  • Hawthorne Drive Park
  • Bridgedale Park Boulavard

Mill Creek Nature Park and Trails remain open, but residents are reminded that they should follow protocols issued by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (Public Health), which includes social distancing guidelines of keeping a minimum of two meters away from each other, regular hand washing and avoiding touching their face.
