Town presents 2018 Strategic Plan Progress Report

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) Town Council has released the first annual report on the Town of Riverview’s 2016-2020 Strategic Plan to share with residents and stakeholders in our community how the plan is being put into action.  The report was formally presented by Town staff at the January 22, 2018 Council meeting.

The Strategic Plan encompasses our vision for Riverview to be a thriving, safe and welcoming community where present and future generations live well, and the local economy prospers. To achieve that vision, Council established a plan with 16 strategic objectives and 48 actions shared across departmental plans over four years.

Each measure is connected to one of four 'themes' that build on Riverview's strengths and concentrate resources on areas of focus:

  • A safe and welcoming community
  • Planning for the future
  • Smart and sustainable growth
  • Fiscal responsibility and service excellence

As this first annual report demonstrates, significant efforts are already transforming our community. The 2018 progress report details how well the Town is meeting its goals in pursuit of our overall vision. Specifically, it:

  • Describes each outcome measure
  • Explains the factors that help and hinder us in meeting the targets
  • Provides metrics to show progress toward the targets
  • Highlights the 2018 priorities

Council adopted the Town of Riverview's 2016-2020 Strategic Plan that was developed by senior management and Town staff in December 2016. It reflects Council’s collective commitment to action.
