Tri-Community Launches Portal to Support Ukrainian Refugees

In light of the arrival of refugees fleeing Ukraine, the Town of Riverview, City of Moncton, and City of Dieppe have launched a centralized portal on the Immigration Greater Moncton website intended to assist Ukrainian refugees access relevant information and local support services as they settle into the Greater Moncton Area. This portal was also launched in collaboration with a number of community partners including the Ukrainian Club of Moncton, the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce, WorkingNB and the Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area. The intent of the portal is to serve as a one-stop-shop for information and resources to assist the settlement and integration of Ukrainians. The landing page provides information on essential services including, but not limited to: housing, transportation, healthcare, and childcare. It also connects newcomers directly to the appropriate service providers in the area. The resources are located on the Greater Moncton Immigration website, a joint initiative by the three municipalities as part of their collaborative efforts to promote the region as an ideal place for newcomers to live, work, and study. This page is also intended to provide additional resources for community members who are looking to get involved and provide support for the integration efforts. Approximately 479 refugees have arrived in the Greater Moncton Area from Ukraine. The tri-communities continue to collaborate on newcomer attraction, retention, and integration as part of the Greater Moncton Immigration Strategy.
