Update on facilities after Zone 1 moves to orange phase

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – The Town of Riverview wishes to provide an update to residents regarding the status of municipal facilities following the decision to move Zone 1 to the orange level COVID-19 recovery phase.

  1. The Byron Dobson Memorial Arena will remain open. Activities will be restricted to single team practices only provided all teams have an active COVID-19 Operational Plan. Please contact the facility or your user group organisation for more information.
  2. The Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre will be closed effective midnight tonight (November 20), until operational plans can be revised based on the new information. Groups will be contacted with further details when available.

The following town facilities will remain open in accordance with public health guidelines and to each facility’s COVID-19 Operational Plan:

  • Coverdale Centre
  • Bridgedale Centre
  • Skate Park / Youth Centre
  • Riverview Community Hall

Any individuals or user groups unsure about events they have booked should contact the facility directly for further guidance.

The Parks, Recreation & Community Relations Office on Biggs Drive remains open to the public, as does Riverview Dog Park. Sports fields are now closed for the season.

Parks, playgrounds and trails remain open. As a reminder users will follow the provincial guidelines at all times.

In orange phase wearing face masks is mandatory in public spaces, both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor public spaces include parks, playgrounds, markets, festival sites, dog parks, and walking trails. A mask is not required while walking, jogging or cycling with people in the same bubble, where they are unlikely to come within two metres of people from outside their bubble.

Reaching for Rainbows Daycare, which operates out of the Riverview Community Hall, will remain open. Contact: reachingforrainbows@outlook.com and/or 389-1442 for additional information.

For information related to the status of the Boys and Girls Club daycare, operated out of the Coverdale Centre, please refer to https://www.bgcriverview.com.

If the situation changes, the Town will update residents and contact user groups. All Town of Riverview updates relating to the COVID-19 pandemic can be found here.
