Ward 4 Councillor Wayne Bennett Elected Deputy Mayor
RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – Council has elected Ward 4 Councillor, Wayne Bennett, as Deputy Mayor following a motion at the June 13 Regular Council Meeting.
The Deputy Mayor is called upon to represent the Mayor at public events when he cannot attend and chair council meetings in the absence of the Mayor. Council elects a new deputy mayor every year.
Mayor Andrew J. LeBlanc welcomes Deputy Mayor Bennett into this role, who brings a wealth of experience as a longstanding Councillor (five terms). This is his second time serving as Deputy Mayor. He also thanks outgoing Deputy Mayor Jeremy Thorne for his service over the last year.
Deputy Mayor Bennett will serve in this role until May 2023.
