Water main flushing program starts April 23

The Town of Riverview’s annual water main flushing program helps to maintain high-quality water throughout the town. During a flushing operation in your neighbourhood, you’ll see crews flushing the water system at a high velocity through fire hydrants.

Flushing is scheduled for April 23 to May 17, 2019 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Here's what you need to know:

  • During the flushing process, you may notice water discolouration or low water pressure. This is temporary and should clear within a short time. Water consumption should be minimized if there is a change in the water's appearance.
  • Residents should refrain from doing laundry during the times when flushing is scheduled in your area (see map). This will reduce the likelihood of clothes becoming stained by discoloured water.
  • To prevent staining and to clear water lines after flushing, turn on the cold water tap until the water runs clear.

Please direct any inquiries to the Department of Engineering and Public Works at 387-2030 or info@townofriverview.ca.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Your cooperation and understanding are appreciated.
