Winter Storm Watch

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – Environment Canada has issued a special winter storm watch for southeast New Brunswick beginning late Tuesday, December 13.

Snow is expected to begin Tuesday evening and become heavy, at times, overnight. Strong northerly to westerly winds in conjunction with falling snow may result in poor visibility in blowing snow. There remains some discrepancy in timing and exact track of the system which could lead to changes in snowfall amounts.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

To assist Town of Riverview road crews in the event of heavy snowfall, please remove all road obstructions including hockey nets, basketball nets and anything that may get in the way of plows. Motorists are reminded that parking is prohibited on any municipal street between midnight and 7 a.m. and during snow removal operations. Vehicles parked in violation will be towed or ticketed. Municipal by-law also prohibits residents from pushing snow back onto the road while clearing driveways and sidewalks.
