Electrical Safety

Though critical to our modern lives, electricity also has the potential to destroy homes and lives. Do not underestimate the power of power. Use it smartly, and have all electrical work done by a qualified electrician.

Do not overload circuits:

• Plug only one heat producing appliance (coffee maker, toaster, space heater) into a receptacle;
• When using a power bar or multi-plug adapter be aware of the current load you are placing on the circuit;
• Don't daisy chain power bars (plug a power bar into another power bar);
• Extension cords should only be used for temporary use. Have an electrician install more receptacles instead of using an extension cord for long-term use.
