Riverview Town Hall
Mayor

Ann Seamans is Riverview’s first female mayor. She is currently serving her second term in the role after being re-elected in 2016. Previously, she served on Council for 14 years, representing residents as a councillor-at-large for 14 years.

Ann is known for her accessibility, energy, enthusiasm, and deep commitment to Riverview and its residents.

She brings to her position a great passion for community service, small business experience and decades of knowledge as a public servant. For most of her career, Ann was a successful real estate agent with Royal LePage. She retired in 2013 to devote herself full-time to the office of Mayor.

During Ann’s first term as Mayor, she formed a citizen-led committee with the mandate to research and consult with the community for the development of an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) for the Town of Riverview. The final plan, Envision Riverview, reflects the shared aspirations of the community and outlines a strategy to develop existing assets and resources to ensure a resilient and prosperous future for all.

Over her many years in public service, Ann worked with Council to secure funding for the installation of the south-end water tower, lobbied the provincial government for the Gunningsville Bridge, and led the Town’s 20-year Municipal Development Plan.

She is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in honour of her significant contributions to her community, and was named an RBC Woman of Distinction.

Ann has raised two sons (Mark and Jamie), who are continuing the family’s tradition of entrepreneurship. When she is not focused on serving residents of Riverview, Ann and her husband Skip Rudderham enjoy spending time with their combined family of four children and nine grandchildren. She also enjoys walking the many trails that Riverview has to offer its residents.
